The Greater Riverside Biodiversity Initiative (GRBI) is an initiative to establish an interconnected web of green spaces some 280 ha in extent in the Greater Riverside area of Mbombela. These spaces will increase the city’s resilience to climate change, conserve and enhance biodiversity value, and generate opportunities for social and ecological regeneration.
Halls Properties donated the land for the GRBI and through strategic partnerships with the City of Mbombela Local Municipality, South African National Biodiversity Initiative (SANBI) and the University of Mpumalanga, has been instrumental in bringing this initiative to life.
