Situated in Limpopo Province, Selati Game Reserve is a 27 000 ha and 10 000 ha private reserve of unique biodiversity and unparalleled beauty. In 1993, Halls reviewed the role of cattle farming on their 10 000ha Ermelo ranch and proposed the sustainable management and enhancement of the ecosystem to their neighbouring landowners, resulting in the foundation of a reserve playing a significant role in the conservation and growth of the wildlife heritage of South Africa.

Selati has partnered with leading local and international wildlife and environmental groups and universities to establish breeding and research programmes and create a legacy of conservation and enhancement of the ecosystem’s biodiversity.

As part of the HL Hall & Sons 125th celebrations in 2015 a private eco-lodge was opened. Inspired by the surrounding indigenous trees, Huja enables the wilderness experience and reveals the importance of a light human footprint amidst the natural ecosystem. This property is a heritage gem of significant value in the Halls property portfolio.
